Jamesetta Halley-Boyce, Ph.D. is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. A native New Yorker, Dr. Halley-Boyce served as the Chief Executive Officer of the 376 bed, State University Hospital in Brooklyn. One of few women executives to serve in the capacity of CEO in any of the nation's 122 Academic Medical Centers. Dr. Halley-Boyce is known for her smooth, humanistic leadership style and for achieving maximum operational efficiency, patient, staff and physician satisfaction, clinical excellence and financial results. She is a consummate mentor, educator, facilitator and coach with an ability to achieve organizational, team and personal excellence in every challenge and opportunity. She is a charismatic leader, experienced in strategic planning, financial and other management information systems, market research and analysis, managed care, governmental affairs etc. AMC, Dr. Halley-Boyce has held executive level positions within the State University of New York System for the past twelve years.
Dr. Halley-Boyce launched her career with the Department of Veteran Affairs. During her twenty-one year tenure with the Federal Government, she held increasingly more challenging assignments in Nursing Leadership positions at V.A. Medical Centers throughout the United States. Her last assignment with the agency was Chief of Nursing at the Brooklyn V.A. Medical Center. She has additionally served as Chief of Nursing at the V.A. Medical Centers in Asheville, North Carolina; Northport, LI, New York, and East Orange, New Jersey. Recognized as a leader in Healthcare Administration and in the profession of Nursing, Dr. Halley-Boyce has served as a Director on a number of boards, including Healthfirst and the University Hospitals and Systems Consortium. She has held elected and appointed offices in the New Jersey State Nurse's Association, the New York State Nurse's Association Council on Human Rights, the America Organization of Nursing Executives, the Greater New York/Nassau/Suffolk Organization of Nurse Executives (President 1995 - 1997), The American College of Healthcare Executives New York Regent's Advisory Council and Who's Who in International Professions.
Dr. Halley-Boyce is the founder of the Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.'s Mentoring Program Partnership with the SUNY Health Science Center. The mentorship program entitled "Mentoring Is A Lifetime Commitment" has been successfully replicated by several Chi Eta Phi chapters and Colleges of Nursing throughout the country. As a result of the mentorship program, several hundred student nurses have successfully made the transition into the profession of Nursing.
Dr. Halley-Boyce is also an active member of the DELTA SIGMA Theta Sorority, Inc. Queens Alumnae Chapter.
Possessing an earned doctorate in Healthcare Services Administration, Dr. Halley-Boyce has held academic faculty appointments at Duke University, Stony Brook University, Seton Hall University, The Federal Executive Center, the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, Thomas Edison State College. She is a recognized expert on quality management in the delivery of healthcare services and has lectured widely and published on this subject.
